Morgan Wallen penned a handwritten letter and addressed his fans for the first time in several months after using a racial slur.

The "7 Summers" singer shared pictures of his multiple-page letter written to his fans on Tuesday, April 13. Wallen stepped away from the spotlight after a video surfaced of him using the N-word in late February. He immediately apologized but stayed away from social media since. Morgan admits in his letter that he's "made some mistakes" but revealed that he's "really worked" on himself.

The country artist started his letter by thanking the fans who sent him love and support over the past few rough months. "I know my corner has not been the most popular to stand in recently, but many of you did anyway," Wallen wrote.

He continued and tried to put into words the emotions he felt since the racial slur video surfaced. "I've made some mistakes, I'm figuring those out, & I apologized because I was truly sorry & have been making my amends," he said.

"[I] feel like I've really worked on myself," he added. "I'm proud of the work I've put in, & in many ways thankful to have had the time to do it. I've needed this time off."

"Not only has this time revealed to me the way in which I want to improve, but it's also reminded me that I am still very proud of who I am & the man I am becoming."

Morgan ended his mea culpa by saying that he needs more time to reflect and that he will not be touring anytime soon. "[I] will not be performing our dates this summer," he revealed. "It means I won't e playing festivals or the Luke Bryon tour dates."

However, the country star still encouraged his fans to support the dates and country music. "Country music is back & that's a beautiful damn thing."

"Just know that you will be seeing me sooner rather than later."
