Adam Levine Shows Off MASSIVE Tattoo That Covers His Entire Leg!

Adam spent several hours with tattoo artist Nathan Kostechko and said that their time together was painful but necessary. "Today was ouch but worth it," the singer captioned a clip on his Instagram story. After the long, painful process, Levine showed off the finished work. "Most painful way to get a tan," he joked while showing off how large it really is. He captioned another angle, "Mint." The entire process spanned over three days and clearly involved a lot of black ink.

Kostechko, aside from being an extremely talented artist, is the boyfriend of model Charlotte McKinney and has tattooed Levine once before. He is responsible for the heart tattoo on the bank of Adam's neck.

Levine is certainly no stranger to body art and tattoos; he has more than a dozen other pieces, including two full sleeves. Some reports say that the wave tattoo is the star's 27th.

The singer revealed a giant back tattoo in 2016 that featured a siren clutching a skull and a pirate ship on the horizon. This elaborate piece of art took six months to complete, but it too was worth it!

Levine spoke to PEOPLE about the importance of tattoos when he was named the Sexiest Man Alive in 2013. "Tattoos wind up being this strange road map or narrative over the years," he said at the time. "They always remind me of this long, weird, awesome journey life has been."

Adam revealed that he got his first tattoo at 21-years-old of a dove located on his bicep. "It was five days after 9/11," he said. "I felt this needed to say something with this peaceful thing on my body."
