Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are STILL together despite having a rocky past few weeks, and the couple is doing "everything they can" to save their famous relationship.

According to reports, the A-list couple is still together and continuing to work on their relationship, despite being on the brink of separation just a few days ago.

As you know, it was announced in the media that the power couple had cut things off, only to have them make a joint statement saying they are still together and "working on some issues."

As we reported, after the stories surfaced of a possible split, the former MLB star jumped on a jet and headed to the Dominican Republic to spend a few days hashing out issues with his famous fiancee.

"He is making a big effort, and he wants Jennifer to be happy," a source told People.

Apparently, the days together on the beautiful islands worked -- and it has been "great" for the couple who are continuing to work through their issues and "taking things slowly."

As for the recent time in the DR, "Jennifer was excited to see him in person. They are really trying to figure things out," the outlet reported.

Adding, "It was a happy reunion. They still have a lot to figure out before their relationship is great again."

It should be noted, the breakup rumors were not rooted in false information -- the couple was on the brink of calling it quits and Lopez WAS "very much ready to give up" on the relationship but it "happy they are still together."

At this point, Alex is heading home to Miami to prepare for the return of Major League Baseball. The former slugger is a commentator for the sport, and the 2021 season kicks off on April 1.

It appears the couple will remain living together, and co-parenting their children from other previous relationships. "They both liked spending more time together as a family, but it was difficult to keep that special spark when they saw each other every day," it was reported.

The bottom line, both are aware "they have so much to lose if they split."
