Will Smith revealed that he's been called the N-word several times but never by anyone that showed any sign of "intellect."

The "Amend: The Fight for America" star appeared on the political podcast "Pod Save America" on March 1, where he discussed the current racial climate of the United States and hinted about a possible political run. However, Smith kept it real when he admitted that he had been the victim of people hurling the hurtful slur. The actor said that he managed to keep his cool because he didn't see any form of intelligence when he looked into his verbal attacker's eyes.

"I've been called [N-word] to my face probably five or six times," Smith told Jon Favreau, the podcast's host. "And fortunately for my psyche, I've never been called [N-word] by a smart person."

"I had never looked into the eyes of a racist and saw anything that I perceived as intellect," Will said confidently.

He did say that racism and racists are definitely dangerous, but he always perceived them as stupid while growing up. However, he did say that he saw systemic racism when he became an actor in Hollywood.

The Philly rapper spoke about the noticeable difference between two kinds of systemic racism in the Hollywood scene, all topics he addresses in his new Netflix project, "Amend: The Fight for America."

"At the core of it, I noticed a difference between ignorance and evil," Smith said. "Now they're twins, for sure, but ignorance can be educated and evil is a much more difficult problem. And fortunately, ignorance is more prevalent than blatant evil."

"So I've always been encouraged that the process of education and understanding could alleviate some of the more dangerous and difficult aspects of racism that have unfortunately been embedded in the very fibers of our country."

Political Future?

Smith said that the Presidential office needs to "get cleaned up a little bit" but hinted at a possible political run in the future. "I absolutely have an opinion. I'm optimistic. I'm hopeful," he said. "I believe in understanding between people and I believe in the possibility of harmony. So, I will certainly do my part, whether it remains artistic or at some point ventures into the political arena," Will told the hosts.
