Tiger Woods was involved in a brutal car accident this morning, and reports are now claiming alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash and nothing 'illicit' was found in the vehicle.

According to reports, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department is investigating the scene of Tiger's early morning car accident, including a determination if any crime was committed.

At this point, it seems authorities are NOT investigating the crash as a DUI situation -- and they say there is no evidence pointing to alcohol as a factor in the accident.

Tiger Woods was the only person involved in the accident, and at this point, police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

At this time, it's unclear if any other substances could have played a role in the collision, but Sheriff's said in a press conference this afternoon that they do not believe 'impairment' was an issue in this case. Obviously, blood work will be taken at the hospital and will be the subject of the 'investigation.'

During the press conference, reporters asked specifically about drugs or medications that could have been an issue in this case, but the Sheriff's department says they have no information that is an issue at this time.

Authorities who arrived on the scene of the massive accident, including the L.A. Sheriffs and L.A. County Fire Department, just released new details surrounding the crash which included his injuries.

Tiger Woods has severe injuries to BOTH of his legs and was placed on a gurney with neck and back stabilized because of possible spine injuries. The legendary golfer was transported to a local hospital and was rushed into surgery for injuries to his legs.

As for the crash, authorities say the car traveled several hundred feet from the center divider and rolled over ending up on the other side of the street.

Tiger's car "hit a curb, hit a tree, several rollovers," the Sheriff said during the press conference.

First Responders Says Tiger Woods Was 'Calm And Lucid' Following Accident

Interestingly, the first deputy on the scene of the accident says he made contact with Tiger Woods who was trapped in the car and waited for the Fire Department to extract him from the vehicle.

At the time, the deputy said Tiger was 'lucid and calm' and there was no evidence of him falling asleep at the wheel or being under the influence. Tiger Woods WAS wearing a seatbelt, and airbags deployed, which authorities believed help save his life.

During the press conference, authorities clarified that the 'jaws of life' were not used to extract him from the car -- but several other tools, including an ax, were used to get him out.
