Man Suing Drake, Odell Beckham Jr. Over Alleged Assault Demands $250,000

By Ryan Naumann

The man suing Drake, Odell Beckham Jr. and Kourtney Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend Younes Bendjima wants them to pay up for his alleged traumatic brain injury following a nightclub beatdown.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Bennett Sipes, who filed the lawsuit, has informed the court what he believes the defendants should pay in damages. His filing reveals, “Plaintiff believes he will be seeking around $250,000.00.”

The amount of money the plaintiff is seeking has not been discussed before this filing.

In the document, Sipes’ lawyer says, “Mr. Sipes suffered a traumatic brain injury, as well as injuries to his back, neck, shoulders, etc. Plaintiff is seeking monetary damages for past and future pain and suffering, medical bills, lost future earnings, past and future emotional distress, and punitive damages. It is unknown at this time what the impact of the brain injury will have on lost future earnings."

Bennett is suing Younes, Drake (and Odell over an alleged assault that went down at Delilah nightclub in Hollywood on March 24, 2018.

In the lawsuit, Bennett said Younes along with members of Drake and Odell’s entourage assaulted him inside the club. He was visiting his girlfriend, Sommer Ray, who was in the VIP section talking to Drake, OBJ, and Younes. Once he entered the venue, he walked towards the location of his girlfriend.

Bennett says when he went to the VIP section an argument broke out between him and the three men. The argument got worse once the man left the VIP area

The plaintiff claims as he left the VIP, he “witnessed Defendant Drake signaling to his private security a hand gesture of ‘throat slash,’ after he pointed at Plaintiff. Plaintiff understood this to be some type of physical threat towards himself.” As he walked to the bathroom, Bennett claims Younes and members of the others entourages proceeded to “push, shove, kick and repeatedly punch Plaintiff in the face and body.” The lawsuit says he suffered a ton of injuries and medical bills from the alleged assault.

Drake and Odell have denied all allegations of wrongdoing.

The rapper pointed to security footage saying Younes was the only involved in the assault NOT him. Kourtney’s ex agreed and defended Drake in court. He said the rapper had no involvement in the matter.

His lawyer wrote, “Celebrities were passive observers, yet somehow made it in as Defendants. Defendant YOUNES BENDJIMA won the fight, but was not the aggressor, Plaintiff was, and it was mutual combat (with consent of Plaintiff). Also has affirmative defense for self-defense, tried to ignore Plaintiff, no avail.”

Younes also defended himself saying his actions were done in self-defense.The case is headed to trial but no date has been scheduled.
