Gayle King is facing serious backlash this week for her line of questioning to Lisa Leslie while talking about Kobe Bryant's legacy. The "CBS This Morning" anchor brought up the 2003 rape allegations against the late Lakers legend, and many viewed it as inappropriate, including rapper 50 Cent.

He took to Instagram to share a video of himself watching the clip from the interview and adding his own commentary.

"what is this, wait somebody gotta help me understand why they keep doing this. 🤷🏽‍♂️i apologize for my language in advance let’s talk about this," he wrote in the caption. explains what happened in the video:

"It's been said that his legacy is complicated, because of a sexual assault charge that was dismissed in 2003, 2004," King tells Leslie in the interview.

"It's not complicated. You just said it was dismissed," 50 Cent says. "Is it complicated for you, as a woman, as a WNBA player?" King asks Leslie, at which point 50 Cent says, "No."

"It's not complicated for me at all," Leslie tells King. "I just never see- have ever seen him being the kind of person that would be- do something to violate a woman or be aggressive in that way. That's just not the person that I know."

"But Lisa, you wouldn't see it though," King prompts. "As his friend, you wouldn't see it."

"Then how would you see it, Gayle?" 50 Cent comments. "How the f--k would you see it, b--ch?"

People in 50 Cent's comments agreed with him.

"It's crazy in the 17yrs after that case I dont think one reporter asked Kobe about the case (never ever mentioned it as part of his legacy). Now the man died and now it's part of his legacy and you bring it up with every person you speak too but had I'm sure 100s of chances to ask him!!! Smh," one wrote.

"I am totally done with Oprah and Gail. They take pride in trying to exploit black men!" another said.

King tried to explain what happened during that portion of the interview in an Instagram post of her own on Thursday.

"I've been up reading the comments about the interview I did with Lisa Leslie about Kobe Bryant," King said. "I know that if I had only seen the clip that you saw, I'd be extremely angry with me too. I am mortified, I am embarrassed and I am very angry."

"Unbeknownst to me, my network put up a clip from a very wide ranging interview, totally taken out of context and when you see it that way, it's very jarring," King continued, referencing the clip that was shared on social media by CBS.

"It's jarring to me. I didn't even know anything about it. I started getting calls, ‘What the hell are you doing? Why did you say this? What is happening?' I did not know what people were talking about.

"I really want people to understand what happened here and how I'm feeling about it," she said. "I believe that Lisa was OK with the interview and I felt really good about the interview."
